Reckon Review is a free beta GitHub App that gates pull-request merges on human comprehension. Use it at your own discretion; it's provided as-is, with no warranty. It's a comprehension prompt, not a substitute for code review, and you stay responsible for what you merge. You can uninstall any time.
By installing or using Reckon Review (the "App") on a repository or organization, you agree to these Terms. If you're installing on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to do so. If you don't agree, don't install the App.
The App is a GitHub App that adds a status check to pull requests and blocks merging until a reviewer explains, in their own words, the mechanism of the change. It may create and manage a branch ruleset requiring its check, post comments, and grade explanations using an automated model. Behavior is described on our home page and in the Privacy Policy.
The App is in beta. It's under active development, may change or be interrupted, and may contain bugs. The comprehension grader is automated and imperfect - it can pass an explanation that's weak or block one that's fine. We may add, change, or remove features, or discontinue the App, at any time without notice.
The App is free during the beta - we cover the cost of grading. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we'll give notice before charging, and continued use of any paid feature will be subject to its pricing.
The App can set a required check and can, with the permissions you grant, manage a branch ruleset. It does not override your GitHub settings beyond that, and you can remove its ruleset or uninstall it at any time to regain an unblocked merge. You remain in control of your repository.
The App runs on GitHub and relies on third-party providers (including OpenAI, Supabase, and Fly.io) as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of GitHub and those services is governed by their own terms. We're not responsible for their availability or actions.
We don't claim ownership of your code. You retain all rights to your repositories and content. The App's own code, where published, is available under the license stated in its repository.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its grading will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App - including anything you merged, failed to merge, or shipped while using it. Since the App is free, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero.
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it or deleting its managed ruleset. We may suspend or terminate access to the App at any time, including for misuse. On uninstall, your stored data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
